TIMOR PORT WELCOMES THE WOMEN ENGINEER ASSOCIATION OF TIMOR LESTE

Timor Port was honored to host a visit from the Women Engineer Association of Timor-Leste on January 21, 2025. This visit marks a significant step in fostering collaboration and promoting the role of women in engineering and infrastructure development within the region.

During the visit, members of the association were given a comprehensive tour of the port’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the container handling areas, control rooms, and the latest technological advancements implemented at the port. The delegation had the opportunity to engage with Timor Port’s team, discussing best practices, innovative solutions, and the critical role of women in the maritime sector.

“We are delighted to welcome the Women Engineer Association of Timor-Leste to Timor Port. Their visit underscores our commitment to supporting gender diversity and empowering women in engineering. We believe that by working together, we can drive positive change and inspire the next generation of female engineers.” said Benvinda Carvalho, CSR delegate of Timor Port.
The Women Engineer Association of Timor-Leste expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and the insightful tour. “This visit has been incredibly inspiring. Seeing the advanced infrastructure and the dedication of the team at Timor Port reinforces our belief in the importance of women’s contributions to engineering and infrastructure projects” said Isabel Amaral, representative of the association.”

Timor Port remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and supporting initiatives that promote diversity and innovation in the engineering field. Today’s visit is a testament to the collaborative spirit and shared vision for a brighter future.
