TIMOR PORT STRENGTHENS TECHNICAL SKILLS OF ITS STAFF FOR ENHANCED OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE

As part of its commitment to enhancing the expertise of its workforce, Timor Port S.A. (TPSA) recently conducted an intensive training program for 10 members of the Technical Department from 03/01/2025 to 10/01/2015. Delivered by Kone Cranes Malaysia, this training focused on key technical modules such as electricity, hydraulics, and automation (levels 1 and 2) to ensure optimal performance in operations by reducing the MTTR and increasing the MTBF of maintenance team.

This initiative, which is part of an ongoing skills development strategy at TPSA, is not the first of its kind. When many other training sessions had already been completed in 2023 and 2024. Notably, a training session from Africa trucks conducted for one week to encompass the technical modules of SVETRUCK forklift, Reach Stacker, Empty handler and Terberg brands. It was a highly beneficial seminar that improved skills in hydraulic, mechanical & Electric. Similarly, in 2025, there are more training sessions planned in Bromma spreader & Schneider switch gears, with an emphasis on critical areas for the effective management of equipment.

“By maintaining a continuous training dynamic within our Technical Department, Timor Port invests in the improvement of its operations. The increased technical knowledge, combined with field experience, becomes an asset for quick diagnostics, fault resolution, and the restoration of our equipment, In addition, Not focusing solely on technical teams, Workshop managers will also undergo management training programs to strengthen their ability to lead their teams effectively and further enhancing the autonomy of workshop staff” stated Servet MPAMA, Technical Director of Timor Port.

This approach ensures greater availability and reliability of terminal equipment, thereby enhancing its capacity to deliver world-class port services.
